About Session

The significance of inverted positions in freeing the speaking and singing voice

The workshop is based on the authorial KinEmission method, created in collaboration with a physiotherapist, which links body movement with voice release in speech and singing. While traditional yoga positions are effective in voice training, antigravity yoga – especially inverted positions – provides more spectacular results by supporting breathing (appoggio) and muscle relaxation through gravity.
As a certified Aerial-Yoga trainer with 10 years of experience, I apply these exercises in work with acting students. During the workshop, semi-inverted and inverted positions will be apresented by the instructor and active participants. Participants will simultaneously use their voices in fragments of texts or songs (poem, prose, or aria).
The workshop is addressed primarily to professional voice users – actors, pop and opera singers – but is suitable for anyone who relies on their voice professionally. Maximum 5 active participants can join; sports clothing is required.
Expected results include improved vocal conditions through gravitational assistance, stimulation of resonators, and enhanced voice release. A sample relaxation based on the Alexander Technique in a hammock will also be demonstrated.
