About Session

Acoustic Measurements in the Original KinEmission Method

KinEmission is an original interdisciplinary voice training method combining Antygravity-Yoga exercises with emission and impostation techniques. Its aim is to naturally and healthily release the voice and support rehabilitation after vocal strain. While previous auditory observations indicated the method’s effectiveness, this study sought to provide scientific validation. In collaboration with acoustics experts from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, acoustic parameters (F0, formants F1–F4, jitter, shimmer, harmonics) were measured before, during, and after exercises, as well as at the beginning and end of a one-year training cycle. After the first semester, results showed an increase in harmonics and beneficial formant changes, suggesting improved sound quality, tonal clarity, and articulation precision. After two semesters, a consistent trend in F0 changes was observed (lowering for female voices, raising for male voices), along with persistent individual differences, indicating the need for personalized assessment. The collected data provides a basis for further research, including the potential use of machine learning techniques to identify parameters most clearly reflecting audible vocal changes.
