About Alvaro Schoeck
Before and during his directing studies at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, Alvaro Schoeck worked as an assistant director at various theatres such as the Stuttgart State Opera, the Mainz State Theatre and the Lucerne Theatre. Since then, he has worked as a freelance director for both spoken and musical theatre in Germany and Switzerland, including at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, the Theater Biel Solothurn and the Dortmund Opera. Together with his partner, filmmaker Charlotte Waltert, he developed the animated film “Die graue March”, which has won several international awards since 2023. He has been involved in the Othmar Schoeck Festival in Brunnen for more than ten years, bringing dynamism to the discussion about the complex situation surrounding the house where his great-uncle was born.
