About Flurina Plattner
Flurina Plattner, who grew up in Meggen in the canton of Lucerne, is 20 years old. She attended the music-focused upper secondary school programme at Kantonsschule Schüpfheim and graduated with her Swiss Matura in summer 2025. Since 2025, she has been studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), pursuing two principal subjects simultaneously: Yodeling with Prof. Nadja Räss and Classical Voice with Prof. Hans-Jürg Rickenbacher.
Her passion for singing began at the age of five. Since then, she has received regular training in both yodeling and classical singing, gaining extensive musical experience over the years as a soloist as well as in a variety of ensemble and chamber music settings.
Flurina Plattner has already achieved several notable distinctions. At the International Alpine Folk Music Competition in Innsbruck, she received the highest possible award, “Excellent”, in 2022. In 2023, she won third prize in the vocal category at the final round of the Swiss Youth Music Competition (SJMW). She was also awarded the highest possible mark, Grade 1, at both the Central Swiss Yodeling Festival in 2024 and the Federal Yodeling Festival in 2026.
