Irène Straub from Lucerne studied music with a major in classical singing at the Lucerne School of Music and in Zurich. In 2007, she received her diploma as a Swiss-certified singing teacher (now a Master’s degree). This was followed in 2012 by a certificate from the Complete Vocal Institute Copenhagen and in 2014 by a certificate as a Music Kinesiology Practitioner®. The versatile artist teaches private students and, since 2020, at the Emmen Music School. There and at the Lucerne Ballet Academy, she leads group courses (musical theatre and choir) for children and young people. The Lucerne native serves as an examination expert in the subject of singing/musical theatre at universities and is regularly engaged for courses on the topic of breath energy. The artist has been performing nationally as a show and gala singer for over 25 years. She has appeared in over 20 renowned musicals in leading and solo roles on the musical stage (e.g. The Prom, Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair) – primarily at Le Théâtre, Emmen, where she was also artistic director. Together with Andréas Härry, she wrote her own musicals and translated several works from English for Le Théâtre.
