About Joanne Bozeman

JOANNE BOZEMAN, graduate of the University of Arizona, has taught singing for over 50 years and is retired from Lawrence University’s Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she taught studio voice and voice-related courses. For many years, she was an actively performing soprano. Joanne is co-author of the ground-breaking Singing Through Change: Women’s Voices in Midlife, Menopause, and Beyond. She is dedicated to educating singers, teachers, coaches and conductors about “reproductive” hormones and voice throughout the lifespan. With research partner Marita Stryker, Joanne also educates vocalists and their teachers about singing with hypermobile conditions and POTS. And, with collaborator Karen Brunssen, she researches and writes about pedagogy for the older singer. Joanne is a frequent presenter at universities, international organizations including NATS, PAVA, ICVT, BVA, EVTA, and many other voice education collectives. She is a member of PAVA and NATS, and maintains a small, independent voice studio.
