Rabih Lahoud is the singer of the successful jazz band Masaa, with whom he has already released 5 albums, and member of the band around Markus Stockhausen Eternal Voyage. As a soloist, he has also been involved in numerous productions and festivals, including the Handel Festival in Händel Festival in Halle (2012), the “düsseldorf Festival!” (2015, 2022), the Rheingau Festival (2019) and the Elbjazz (2021). With Stockhausen he performed March 2013 he performed the world premiere of “Das erwachende Heart” as a soloist with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra to great acclaim in Hamburg. In 2015 he was soloist in the world premiere of “Search For Buddha” (Sandesh Shandilya) together with the WDR Radio Choir and the WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne.
In 2016 and 2019 he performed, among others, with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and the Tonhalle Orchestra Düsseldorf Leonard Bernstein’s “Mass” in the Cologne Philharmonie and the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. The WDR Rundfunkorchester invited him in 2019 as a soloist for the project “Symphonic Woodstock”. 2018 Rabih Lahoud was nominated for the ECHO ‘Best Jazz Singer National’. 2021 WDR Jazz Award winner 2021 Winner of the German Jazz Award.
Lahoud has been one of the most requested vocal coaches in Germany for several years. His passion is teaching diverse singing styles and the topic of polyvagal theory in vocal practice, for which he has studied in depth and committed himself to the research. He published the book “Stimme im Flow” (Voice in Flow) in 2022.
Lahoud also works as a composer. In 2011, his work “Joseph Lamento” was performed by the by the choir of the Bach-Verein and the ensemble Concerto con anima at the Cologne Philharmonie for the first time. In 2015, he worked as a composer and singer in the 6th district opera with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. In collaboration with the Ensemble Modern and the pianist Florian Weber, he took part in a performance in 2021 as part of the festival “This is not Lebanon”.
